Access eLibrary Digital Resources
Adobe Digital Editions is needed to transfer eBooks from a computer to an eReader. This is required with some older Kobo eReaders.
Download and install Adobe Digital Editions (ADE)
- Search for and install Adobe Digital Editions.
- Authorize ADE. Set the eBook vendor to "Adobe ID". Enter an existing Adobe ID. If you do not have one, select "Create Adobe ID" and provide the required information as prompted.
- Once the ID has been entered, select "Authorize".
Borrow and transfer books to an eReader
- In Libby on a computer, borrow a book.
- Select “Go to shelf”. Then, select “Manage Loan” and “Read With”. Select “EPUB” to download the file.
- Open the downloaded file.
- Connect the eReader to the computer with a USB cable and follow the instructions on the eReader screen to connect.
- When the Kobo appears in the device list in ADE, drag and drop the book cover to it. Then eject the eReader to safely disconnect.

Beanstack is a web-based reading challenge software. Track your reading minutes and participate in fun activities to earn digital badges.
On a mobile device
- Find and install the Beanstack Tracker app through the device's app store.
- Search for "Lambton".
- Select "Lambton County Library".
- Follow the steps to register an individual or a family.
Log minutes, add book reviews and participate in activities in the Beanstack Tracker app
- Open the Beanstack Tracker app.
- Select the blue plus sign.
- Follow the prompts on the screen to log your accomplishments.
On a computer

You have access to thousands of songs and albums through Freegal Music +. Stream music for up to five hours a day and download up to three songs or credits per week. The files are yours to keep!
On a mobile device
- Find and install the Freegal Music + app through the device's app store.
- To search for the library, type “Canada” and tap “Continue”. Select “Lambton County Library”.
- Enter your library card number and PIN and tap “Log In”.
- Browse or search for music.
- To listen to an album or playlist, tap to select it and tap “Play”.
- To download or add a song to one of your own playlists, tap
and select the desired action.
- Find your playlists and downloaded songs in "My Music".
On a computer
- Go to Freegal Music +.
- Click “Log In” and enter your library card number and PIN. Click “Log In” again.
- Browse or search for music.

Gale courses are web-based, instructor-led courses that can be accessed through the library for free. Topics range from health and wellness, to creative writing, to computer software and much more. Courses consist of 12 lessons over a six-week period. Gale Courses are not credit courses, however, participants who achieve a passing grade receive an award of completion.
Browse courses and register
- Visit Gale Courses.
- Browse for courses by topic or search for courses using the search bar.
- To enroll in a course, select "Enroll Now".
- Select a start date.
- Enter an email address to create a new account and provide the required information as prompted.
- Confirm your enrolment.
Complete course work
- Navigate to the Gale Course page from the library website.
- Select "Sign in" and enter your email address and password.
- Select "Enter Course".
- Select "Lessons" to view available lessons.

You can borrow comic books, movies, TV shows, music albums and audiobooks all through Hoopla, with the added bonus of no wait times. Stream borrowed content on a computer or use the Hoopla app to download. Borrow up to five items per month.
- Note - To borrow comic books, you must download the Hoopla app to your mobile device. Comic books are not accessible on a computer.
On a mobile device
- Install the Hoopla app through the device's app store.
- Open the app and select "Sign Up", then select "Let's Go!".
- Search for "Lambton County Library". Select the library from the list and then select "Next".
- Enter your library card number and PIN. Check the box to allow Hoopla to verify your registration, then select "Sign Up!".
- Search using the search bar or browse by category.
- To borrow an item, select the cover and then "Borrow".
- Select "Play" to stream or "Tap here to download" to download.
On a computer
- Visit Hoopla.
- Select "Get Started Today", then "Let's Go!".
- Search for "Lambton County Library". Select the library from the list and then select "Next".
- Enter your library card number and PIN. Check the box to allow Hoopla to verify your registration, then select "Next".
- Enter your email and create a password. These will be used to log into Hoopla in the future. Select "Sing Up!".
- Once logged in, use the search bar to search or browse by category.
- To borrow an item, select the cover and then select "Borrow".
- Select "Play" to stream the content (download not available).

Through the Iguana Library app you have mobile access to your library account and the library catalogue. The Iguana Library app allows you to search the catalogue, place reservations and renew items. You can also link account and find Lambton County Library locations and contact information.
On a mobile device
- Find and install the Iguana Library app through the device's app store.
- Open the app and select your location.
- Select "User Profile" and enter your user id (library card number) and password (PIN).
- Return to the main menu.
To link with another account, you will need the borrower's library card number to request permission. With the library card number and PIN you have immediate access.
The Kobo Aura One is an eReader with a large screen size, front-light technology and a user friendly interface. Borrow a Kobo Aura One eReaders with your Lambton County Library card and access also can use an eReader to borrow books only available through the library in eBook format.
Getting started
Turn on the Kobo using the blue button on the back. Follow the instructions on the screen.
- Select a language.
- On the Welcome screen, select "Set up over Wi Fi".
- Connect to the Wi Fi network.
- On the Rakuten Kobo screen, select "Create a new account".
- Enter your email address and create a password and then select "Continue".
- On the Sign In screen, select "Continue" again.
- Exit the Kobo Plus Subscription screen by selecting the "X".
- On the home screen, select "More".
- Select "Settings" and then "OverDrive".
- On the OverDrive screen, select "Get Started".
- Select "Sign in to OverDrive".
- Search for Lambton County Library or choose a Lambton County Library location from one of the suggested libraries.
- Enter your library card and PIN in the appropriate boxes. Select "SIGN IN".
- Select "Browse" or "Search" to find books.
Before returning
Reset the device in order to clear any personal information.
- On the home screen, select "More".
- Select "Settings".
- Select "Device Information".
- Select "Factory Reset".
- Select "Reset Now".
Browsing and Searching
- To browse, choose one of the browsing options on the home screen (i.e., Borrow eBooks from your public library).
- To search OverDrive and borrow from the library, select the magnifying glass in the top right corner. Then select "Kobo Store" to the right of the search bar and select "OverDrive" from the drop-down list.
- Enter a search term (title or author) into the search bar and select "Go".
Note: Waitlists on eBooks can be longer than the lending period of the eReader, so it is best to only borrow books and not place holds.
Borrowing and Reading
- Select a book cover and then "Menu". Select "Borrow with OverDrive".
- To read books, select "My Books", then select the book you want to read.
- To navigate back to the home screen when reading, tap the centre of the screen and then select the back arrow at the top left.
Note: Books will automatically return after the lending period expires. There is a five checkout limit per card for eBooks.

Use the Libby app to read eBooks and eMagazines or listen to eAudiobooks. You may borrow up to five items at a time, eBooks or eAudiobooks, plus an unlimited number of eMagazines. Use the app to borrow and read or borrow from the Libby website on a computer and transfer to an eReader. Kindle eReaders are not supported.
Please return your borrowed item if you are done early!
On a mobile device
- Find and install the Libby app through the device's app store.
- In response to "Do you have a library card?” select "Yes".
- Select "Search For A Library", then enter "Lambton" into the search bar and select "Lambton County Library".
- Select "Sign In With My Library Card" and enter your library card number and PIN. Select "Next", then enter your PIN and select, "Sign In". Once your card is added, select "Next" again.
- Browse or search the collection.
- To borrow a book, select the book cover and then select "Borrow". Select the borrowing period and then select "Borrow" again.
- Select the book to open your borrowed item, continue to browse, or go to the shelf to view borrowed items.
On a computer
- Visit Libby.
- Select “Sing In With My Card”.
- Enter your library card number and then select “Next”. Enter your PIN and select “Sign in”. When you see the card is added, select “Next”.
- Browse through the library or select the search option.
- To borrow, select a cover and select “Borrow”. Select the desired loan period and then select “Borrow” again.
- To read in the browser, select “Open Book”.
- To download and transfer the book to an eReader, select “Go to shelf”. Select “Manage Loan” and then “Read With”. Select “EPUB” to download the file. You will need Adobe Digital Editions installed and authorized on your computer to complete the transfer (see Adobe Digital Editions).

You have free, unlimited access to LinkedIn with your Lambton County Library card.

- Find and install the LinkedIn Learning app through the device's app store.
- Open the app and select "Sign in". Then select "Sign in with your library card”.
- Select “library ID” and enter “lclibrary”. Select “Continue”.
- Enter your library card number and PIN. Select “Continue”.
- Browse for courses or search for courses using the search bar.
On a computer
- Visit LinkedIn Learning.
- Enter your library card number and PIN.
- Follow the steps to personalize your account.
- Browse the course selection or search for specific topics using the search bar.

Mango Languages provides conversational language instruction in over 70 languages for free through the library. Connect to Mango through the library and sign up to start learning.
Register through Mango Languages
- Visit Mango Languages.
- Select “Sign Up”.
- Enter an email and password.
- Agree to the terms and conditions.
- Pick a language that you wish to learn.
- Under “Find Free Mango”, select “Search”.
- Search for "Lambton County Library".
- Enter your library card number.
- Start using Mango.
On a mobile device
- Find and install the Mango Languages app through the device's app store.
- Open the app and select “Log In”.
- Enter your email and password.
- The app will open to the language course you selected.

PressReader offers hundreds of newspapers and magazines. Each Lambton County Library location is a hotspot that gives you 30 days of free access when you connect to the library WiFi. If you see the green coffee mug logo, you know you are connected! You can also access PressReader for free from home by signing in with the library. After 30 days, sign in again to continue your free access.
On a computer at home
- Visit PressReader.
- Select "Sign in", then "Library or Group".
- Search for "Lambton County Library" and select it.
- Enter your library card number and PIN. Allow PressReader to verify your library information. Select "Log in".
- Browse using the Publications menu or search using the search bar.
Once you have logged in successfully on your computer, you have free access for 30 days. You do not need to sign in again until that time is up.
On a mobile device at home
- Find and install the PressReader app through the device's app store
- Open the app. Select "Sign in".
- Select "Libraries and Groups" and search for "Lambton County Library" and select it.
- Enter your library card number and PIN. Select "Sign In".
- Create a new user account as prompted. Select "Agree".
- Once signed in, browse through the publications or search using the search bar.
